The resident priest at the Christ Holy Church International Asaba 2 district, Rev. Pastor Alexander Muo, has called on Christian men across the world to submit themselves totally to the will and directives of God.
He said this while giving his sermon at the Christ Holy Church International Umuonaje-Asaba, on the occasion of the 2023 Father's Day celebration, held on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
Preaching on the 2023 Father's Day theme: "Men of Destiny", the priest cited that God has a plan before forming every man on earth and so, every man should not live a reckless life in other to fulfill destiny.
"God created every man with a plan and goal... To achieve this, every man must live with the word of God and understand that fulfilling destiny involves walking intimately with God, which results in a good prayer life" he said.
Making reference to Samson in the bible, Rev. Muo observed that God prepared him specially to deliver his nation from the humiliations of the Philistines but he derailed from God's will and brought doom to himself.
His words: "One of the easiest ways to fall out of destiny is through the lust of the flesh... Samson would not have failed if he harkened to God's command"
"Joseph knowing fully that he is a man of destiny, stood against the manipulations of Potiphar's wife. Though put in prison due to allegations, he lived a good life and fulfilled his destiny"
Concluding his sermon, Rev. Muo urged men to be careful with friends, not to get carried away with praises. According to him, it is better to be called a fool and achieve destiny than to be praised and not fulfilling destiny. Quoting from Ephesians 1:11, the clergyman encouraged men to understand who and what they are called to accomplish on earth.
In an interview, the Men's Fellowship Chairman, Christ Holy Church International Umuonaje-Asaba, Amb. Emmanuel Nnaemeka advised men across the globe to remain consistent in living and godly life, worthy of emulation. He called on men to often portray the character of a leader in their respective families, workplaces, and the church.
Nnaemeka hailed the resident priest, Rev. Pastor Alexander Muo, referring to him as a priest to be reckoned with. He also sang the praise of other male ministers at the Umuonaje branch.
"Since I started attending Christ Holy Church till date, I have not met a Pastor as sincere as Rev. Muo, whose teachings are deeply rooted in the holy scriptures. He's a true spiritual father who is always available to render any assistance you need" Nnaemeka said.
The event also featured choral renditions by the Men's Fellowship Choir, Drama presentations, Thanksgiving Sessions, and Love Feast among others.
